^^^^My bad, topic should say 225/45/17's, not 245's....

It's been a while since my last post, so I'm a bit rusty. My fam's been taking more and more time, leaving little time for my brick.
So, I hate to do it, but the Comets and I have to part. I'll have some other parts, such as a 3-gauge pod, RIP kit and DP for sale, in posts later this week.
I had these on my wagon. Two of the 225/45/17 tires are Toyo Prozex FZ4’s and two are Michelin Pilots, about 40% and 60% tread. One Toyo needs replacement.

Two of the wheels are very clean, one with very minor rash. The other two have minor rash and some minor chips on the clear coat. One has a very minor bend that is hardly noticeable and hard to spot, with absolutely no leak issues.

Being advertised locally for $600. For VS members $ 550 OBO, plus Fedex Ground Shipping. Since I blew the PP fees, I'd prefer a BankofAmerica cashier's check via secure mail, or electronic transfer from your bank. Otherwise, we'll work something out.

My ebay name is "tegmoto7" with 100% positive feedback, Blue star.

My bad. sad.gif It's been a while so I read the forum rules, but I didn't read the last one. I guess with Jesse's big post, Che's post was missed. Very sorry!

Sold? Couldn't find eBay listing. And if not, any more details about the bend?

Still for sale. It's on CL, local, not eBay.

As I said the bend is hard to spot. As far as I could see, it's on this wheel, at about 4 o'clock.

Close-up, the center of the bend is near the "A" of MAX PRESS.

I hope that helps.

Will the wheel balance with stick-on weights?

Yes, these are OEM. It depends on your tire dealer. Better ones can do it, you need to tell them ahead of time.

Sorry to have been unclear. Reason I was asking was the pics show the clip-on type, which sometimes must be used if the stick-ons don't cause the wheel to balance properly. I was wondering if someone had tried the stick on weights to balance the wheel with the bend and then resorted to the other weights. I am trying to avoid having to use clip-ons.

Thanks,

Mitchell

Sorry, I knew what you meant, meaning that you didn't want the clip-on weights, but maybe I was unclear, too. My reply, that they are OEM wheels, meant that OEM wheels are usually of high quality and do not have the balance issues that some after market wheels can have. I remember asking a better tire dealer about hidden vs. clip on weights. They said that better dealers and techs can balance the wheel without the clip on weights, but not all customers ask about it, so it doesn't get done. The new balancing technologies have also improved.

I'm a mechanical engineer and this bend is so very slight that I do not see that it will be an issue in balancing. Notice how small the weight is, and the fact that it is located near the bend and not opposite of it. I would guess that if the bend was an issue it would have a larger weight located on the opposite side of the bend. Also, notice that all of the wheels have clip-on weights, so this one wasn't an anomoly.

I hope that's reasonable to you.

Thanks,

Mark
