Ok,nobody has the money or a decent trade for my S70,lets try this one..Ive got a black 96 855R, black with a nice clean, strait body. Interior is black with no rips tears or cracking and the suede is in exceptional condition. I removed the mouldings and bumpers and painted them black to match the car, S70 style. Also painted the roof and hood due to peeling clear. I do this for a living,so its done right,base/clear. The car has the original 17 inch wheels with some minor curb rash. I removed the roof rails and installed the flat strips and rear spoiler. Everything in the car works including the heated power seats. I have a brand new Turbo back obx exhaust system for it as well. The car runs well and shifts great, but does need stage 0 (bad elbow, you know where!) Also needs struts springs and a motor mount. Its a two owner car with 201K on the clock,no smoke and the turbo spools right up like new. Bring on the questions! 3000 and its yours

Ok,bare with me here....close your eyes...closed?....all black 96 R wagon with a wing, black interior, stock wheels. As soon as I can get home during the daylight hours and its not pouring,I'll pull it out and take a ton of pictures. For now, picture the above or ask FIORE,hes been here and saw the car. Its exceptionally straight and shines like grampas bald spot. Weve all seen black 855s. Im not going to mislead anyone and tell them its clean just to have you show up and be disappointed. Its clean, all there and then some....just like my T5M,everyone wants these cars and says they are looking for one...well heres one of each. If you want either and have the money theyre for sale,if not they go inside with heat for the winter.Im bored and putting the cars on the table....cash,trades...whatever....Ive gotten a zillion PMs asking about parts off of these cars,Im not parting them, they are complete turn key cars and they are cheap...6-7 grand for a very nicely modified 98 S70 T5M with good miles that many of you have seen and some have ridden in....all reactions are the same...Holy Shit Thats Nuts!(swears and crying for mommies have been removed to protect the innocent) or 3000 for a 96 R cleaner than 99% of any youll find...no neon,no bling...everything on these cars has a purpose...speed,power and agility. Ive owned a bunch of these cars over the last few years and traveled all over to get them....out of the dozen or so Ive owned,I kept these for a reason. The S70 I spared nothing to build, price didnt matter( Ask George!) and the same will happen with the R....if I want it I'll get it and bolt it on. SO,all that ranting aside, suffice it to say the wagon is worth the money, its worth the travel if you have to,and its clean, pics or not.

On a scale of 1 to 10, how would you rate the body and paint? Also, anybody know any good auto shipping companies that'll ship coast to coast?

body is without a doubt 8.5++ interiors similar, detailing this car would bring both into the 9's, probably a 10 on the interior, its that nice. The back is full of the stuff Im buying to put on it right now,so I gotta pull it all out for the pics. As far as shipping companies go,theres a wide range,so shop it around. Go terminal to terminal, not door to door and save hundreds. I got a quote recently from 3 shippers for Ct to SF Cal and prices ranged from 664 to 2518.

How we coming along with the pics? Also, why does it need new springs? Are they sagging in the rear?

Pics wont be until the weekend,Im only home when its dark. Im off Friday,so maybe then. What, specifically, are you looking for in the pictures?

I guess the pictures I'll really be interested in are some close-ups of the repainted areas and how well it matches the other panels and some engine shots. I trust that the rest of the car is fine.

The color is a dead on match. Ive been doing this for years and owned my own restoration shop for ten of those. I only use the best materials and nothing is rushed. The paint is PPG Global and Dupont Chroma-Clear. This was (and may still be) my personal car,or at least one of them,so no cutting corners. The pictures wont do it justice as far as the depth goes. Look for them Friday,I appoligize that it cant be sooner. As far as the engine goes, its all stock and its clean. Nothing added. (yet..........)

Still no pics? I realize that everyone here knows what your car probably looks like, but I"m trying to talk my non-Volvo friend into considering this car. Without pics, its a no-sale for him (his wife)

whats the story on it?

it's completely stock, never been modded.
it has high mileage 150k but runs and drives real good.
it needs an a/c compressor (seized). i took it out and currently running a shorter a/c delete belt.
it has a leaky oil cooler hose, looks like a pain to replace.
abs light comes on occasionally. possibly a wheel sensor? previous owner already had abs module replaced.
so i figured it's not worth much more than $3k as of now.
i'm driving it everyday and decided i want an automatic, if i want to drive stick i can drive my WRX.

Yup,drive it anywhere. Like I said,it needs springs. Also got an ABS/TRACS light...you know the drill on that. She slept outside the other night and it ticked for a few seconds when I started it up then went away,I gotta do a service on it.

And can anyone tell me if this 98 is a dual mass car, cant remember the VIN cut off.production date 3/97

Ok,everyone can sleep tonite,I finally put up about 15 pictures of the R in my albums. The interior shots are shitty due to all the stuff I have in the car,and the drivers side bolster looks worn.It isnt, thats sanding dust from my clothes when I got in it to start it up http://volvospeed.com/vs_forum/index.php?a...si&img=3759

Someone want to get a moderator to close this thread? I put up another, with pictures, this got cluttered
