dj baracus Posted April 11, 2004 Report Posted April 11, 2004 i need to replace my steering wheel...im having trouble w/ the 1st 2 screws...doh!ive turned the steering wheel with screws vertical, but i cannot get enough clearance to get my driver w/ torx bit in...1. whats the trick? get a shorted torx driver? from where...any tips? ive tried a lisle bit on a 1/4" drive...but bit isnt long enough to reach screw head...2. any idea what size it is T25, T27, T30...many thanks in advance!
Bay13 Posted April 11, 2004 Report Posted April 11, 2004 The torx is a 30, I usually use the long shaft bits, like the one I recommend for the thermostat housing. Make sure you pull the steering wheel out as far as you can and that will help.

Guest Guest_r850glt Posted April 11, 2004 Report Posted April 11, 2004 I went to j home depot & bought a torx set, the folding type for $8, looks like a pocket knife a7 has abourt 8-10different sizes it fits ideal. jUST PULL STTERING WHEEL UP
