hi
i searching for a good way to cool my intake air from my 440 turbo engine. the intercooler which was originaly fitted, had to go because the engine is now running in my renault 5 gte which is a lot smaller than the 440/480.
what other coolers could i fit from other volvos? other cars? the problem is, maximum hight is 210mm... i found a cooler from a lancia delta hf turbo which fits, it is 210x275x40, but for my 1.7 engine it's a bit too small i think.
does anyone have an idia?
thanks
al

Wrong forum to ask this I suppose. In the US they never sold a 440 series.... But as I also own a 440 Turbo from -91 I know that there's a lot of space to put a custommade alloy intercooler. Or try a local Rallypart-shop. Maybe you can find one from a Cosworth that fits?
VOLVO 850 T-5R 1994 = DIN 294HP/459NM@wheels
VOLVO C70 T5 1999 = DIN 269HP/406NM@wheels
VOLVO 242 DL 1981
VOLVO 850 T5 racecar with full FIA rollcage etc. etc.

oh, that i didn't new. i'm from switzerland and the 440/480 turbo is good known here.
the volvo turbo engine was originaly a renault 5 engine, porsche and volvo changed some things on it and also put a turbo on it. (originally wihout turbo)
so i managed to fit the volvo updated engine in my renault 5 (i don't know if you know renault, it's a french car)
because my renault is al lot smaller than the 440, i have no space for the volvo intercooler and was asking myself if i could find another car which had a smaller intercooler. so i could save a lot of money...
i hope you can understand my english.
