It would seem ford wants them to be between ford and jaguar, but they want to push jaguar up and make it a little more premium and keep volvo where it is right now.
there was talk from the guys at volvo about possibly making a C70 roadster with the R engine and selling for around $55k USD in the UK back when the planning was first starting, but it'll be a while before we see if they do that. maybe the reason they chose to go back to C70 from the rumored switch to C50 is that they want to do what I think they should do and make the roadster a C50. =X

Why would it be going to far? That's not all I would have in mind. I present my completely useless complete Volvo line up.
V50 - The V50 that is out there now, gliches fixed.

What glitches?

V90* - Supersized Wagon (Reclaims Volvo's title of "sweetest wagon ever" with an R model to crush Magnum owner's egos and to compete with supersedans for people who want more practicallity, less pampering in a huge car.)
Unless they switch back to the proper (rear) drive wheels, and providing that Dodge doesn't release the SRT8 S/C version of the Magnum, it'll never happen.
Sadly, it'll have to be able to support 20+" rims to survive in today's marketplace too.

1994 855 Turbo - Rods: 4 in, 1 out
1988 745 GLE Turbo - 174 WHP, 209 TQ.
1996 965 - Needs (preferably paint code 418) front bumper cover and pass side: front fender trim, side mirror, taillight (red-clear-clear-red). PM Me!!

Yes, I don't see a wagon from Volvo every directly competing with a Magnum. I think the Magnum and 300C are ugly as hell and the Volvo easily wins on looks, but that is only my opinion. However, it is so easy to just drop a bigger V8 in to them to get more power.

There are tons of stupid problems with the S40 and V50, especially the radio. They tend to just stop working and there is supposedly no fix yet. It's a bunch of BS. First MY quirks though, they'll be fixed.

My thumbs point to real. I however, would like to see a coupe version. I always loved the C70 coupe, and I think a C50 coupe would look nice with the body line in the above pics

First of all, for the XXXXXXth time, there will be no C50.
Volvo made it clear that this model will be designated C70. It uses a foldable hardtop roof so when closed the car will be a coupe.
It looks like this picture is legit afterall,

That car looks pretty nice... And thankful bears NO resemblance to the Mustang.
Kinda looks like an Audi and the Lexus SC430 had a baby.

I was thinking more like the 645Ci and Volvo S60 had a baby.
Johann, man, give up telling them it's going to be the C70. Stupid magazines have *still* been spreading wrong information. I guess no one reads Volvo's press releases.
Anyway, I am still left unfulfilled. I want to see the interior.

Too bad you can't optionally inflate that for taking naps on long trips.
