Serpentine Belt Change
SVC/70 1999-2000

First would be to cut the tie wrap at the top right arrow, this will allow you to move several items around later. Have another tie wrap handy so when you put things back together you can put the tie wrap in. The bottom arrow is pointing to a coolant tube on top of the Computer box. Disconnect the tube so it doesn't get in your way when you are trying to route the S-belt. The bottom right is pointing to the supply line for the power steering pump, free the line out of the bracket that keeps it from rubbing on the power steering pulley. The top left two right arrows point to where the coolant bottle connects into the strut tower for support. The power steering reservoir is attached to the coolant bottle, don't separate it, just leave it connected to the power steering reservoir and lift up on the power steering reservoir to free it from brackets that hold it. Once you have loosened the bottles don't pull up too far.

Lift the coolant bottle up just enough so you can disconnect the level sensor for the coolant at the gray connector.

Once you have the level sensor disconnected, then lift both bottles and their hoses up on to the top of the engine like pictured above. Leave all the hoses attached, and make sure the caps are on the bottles good. Notice in the picture that I have not yet removed the coolant tube for the computer box. (woops, I really did take it off later)

The above picture makes it look like there is tons of room to work here, the truth is it's tight quarters. The bolt is 14mm, I've hooked up a 14 inch long box wrench to the tensioner and moved it to the right and secured it in the stops with a bungee cord. This leaves everything in place so you can work the S-belt off and back on without having to hold the wrench on the tensioner. You might want to make a little drawing of the way the belt goes. I'll walk you through it; top of the crankshaft pulley, under the tensioner, over the top of the power steering, down around the A/C compressor, up around the alternator, and then down to the crankshaft pulley. Make sure you have the correct belt, many of these belts are VIN number or engine number specific. Change this belt every 60K or when you see cracks in it.

One last note, once you have everything back together, route the small coolant over flow line/tube as shown in the above picture, and secure it with a tie wrap. This will keep it from rubbing on the power steering pulley and giving you a coolant leak. Good luck.
